The Activity is now open for instruction and renting the planes. The planes are currently at HSV and will be available as of noon 5/20/20 as long as we follow these simple rules. Practice safe distance while outside of the aircraft. A plastic box is inside each aircraft. Inside the box you will find a zip lock bag with a squirt bottle with sanitizer solution and a microfiber rag. Spray the rag and wipe down all surfaces prior to flight. Place rag and bottle back inside zip lock bag and put back in plastic tote. Anyone that does not follow these simple sanitary rules will be given a warning and second time offense will be cause for dismissal. If you see that the cleaning bottle is low please put in squawks so we can refill. We will probably have some spare items like paper towels, cleaner, oil at the front desk at Signature but at this time there is none at the desk. The Flyaway books will be kept inside the aircraft. You will check out the planes at Signature Flight Support. When you check out the aircraft you will hand them (person behind desk) the check out sheet and they will issue you out the keys to the aircraft. When you check back in the aircraft you will give the keys back to the person along with the check in sheet. The tie down ropes will need to be removed from the pads and stowed in the aircraft when you fly. Some ropes are pulled thru the parking lot tie down hooks while some actually have hooks on the end to be removed. Some instructors will still be practicing stay at home due to their age, health or other reasons. If your instructor is not able to fly then contact another. Caroline Hodges has mentioned that she is available to get folks comfortable flying out of HSV so you can contact her. I am also extending currency (written tests, 1hr/3 landings, flight reviews) on a case by case situation since some of you may have lapsed during this down time. You will need to contact me by email, text or phone so I can modify date ranges. This is only for private pilots and above ratings. If you notice, this email is being sent from another account as our other email system has been acting up for the last few months and I pulled your email from what is listed in our aircraft scheduling data base. I am currently working on getting another email account set up thru the Army so future emails will be sent out thru it if it works out well.
